About the role

We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to work on a part-time or independent contractor basis (negotiable) for our consulting firm. This role also includes administrative duties and has the scope to include analysis beyond the traditional parameters of bookkeeping.

The candidate will have the luxury of flexible working hours in the comfort of their own home, however, must be willing to travel to North Sydney on occasion.

A competitive salary/rate will be offered depending on the applicant's skillset and work experience.

The tasks will be 80% bookkeeping and 20% administrative and will include:

  • Management of cash flow
  • Manage the end to end function of Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Weekly expense claims from employees
  • Liaising with employees and contractors to ascertain information
  • Weekly bank reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly financial reports and month end Profit and Loss statements
  • Lodgement of BAS and IAS
  • Administrative tasks to support business operations

Skills and experience

  • You will have a bookkeeping/accounting qualification or extensive experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience with Xero accounting software (including payroll) is preferred
  • BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement
  • Profit and Loss preparation
  • Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Professional approach to work
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to operate autonomously to manage your workload with remote support
  • High attention to detail
  • You will have full working rights in Australia
