Transurban has a multi-billion dollar project pipeline, coupled with 14 roads that we currently maintain and operate across Australia, the US and Canada. With such vast operations, ensuring we are doing the right thing through effective internal governance and assurance practices is important to us. Sitting within our core Finance function and reporting to our Finance, Governance & Assurance Manager, the Internal Auditor provides independent, objective and insightful assurance advice. You will independently execute field work, and oversee the delivery of lifecycle activities from planning through to reporting.

The impact you’ll have

• You’ll coordinate a portfolio of internal audit projects and compliance activities
• You’ll steer the delivery of audit engagements including the scoping, development of test plans, fieldwork and drafting of reports detailing results and observations
• Through the development of trusted relationships, you’ll champion a transparent audit culture throughout the organisation
• Working collaboratively with our Risk Management team, you’ll prepare and execute risk/control assessments for each internal audit
• You’ll assist in the preparation of reports and audit committee papers and take a hands on role in the development of the internal audit plan.

The talents you’ll bring

• You’ll bring good experience (3-5 years) in risk and controls consulting, gained via an External Audit, Internal Audit or IT Auditor capacity
• Strong technical skills in internal audit or risk consulting, and a thorough understanding of a range of strategic, financial and operational process risks and controls
• You’ll possess high levels of attention to detail, with the accuracy of the information you review, compile and distribute being imperative
• A level of comfort and effectiveness communicating with senior stakeholder groups, including General Manager and Executive Committee
• A natural builder of relationships, you’ll enjoy getting on the front foot, embedding yourself in the business and collating information from a variety of sources
• Post grad qualifications such as CA/CPA/CIA will be viewed favourably.
