About The Role
The main objective of this role is to provide the Finance Branch with accounting, legislative and technical support, project management, database systems skills, costing and management accounting support and to meet customer needs and the financial affairs of the City.
This role will also deliver on:
- Assistance in the implementation, development, maintenance and continuous improvement of systems and procedures both within a strategic and operational context which supports effective management information.
- Assistance in the budget process by providing analysis, reports and assistance to internal clients as required as well as through the operation of spreadsheets and database software, and the preparation of specific reports.
- Attendance to internal and external customers' management accounting and costing queries and provide technical support and hands on training for users of management accounting and costing systems.
- Reviewing and reporting budget amendments and the impact on key financial performance indicators and end of year estimates.
- Distributing periodic management and costing reports and assisting operational management in the interpretation and explanation of operating results including verification of data integrity and correct cost allocation.
About You
To be right for this role, you will be qualified with a degree level at a recognized educational institute as a Bachelor of Business or Accountancy. If this is something you do not obtain you will be required to of had at least 5 years experience in an accounting environment.
Other requirements are as followed:
Proven practical ability to present technical costing and accounting concepts and to use initiative to scope solutions and put forward recommendations to meet customers costing/management accounting requirements.
Demonstrate experience in meeting all project/work deadlines, utilising problem solving and time management skills as well as application of good written, presentation and oral communication skills.
