Your role

Due to an internal move, our client is looking for a management accountant to join their domestic finance team. This role is a key member of the Finance team working closely with the rest of finance and business leaders.


You will ideally have strong management accounting skills with an ability to implement process improvements. Additionally you will have solid commercial acumen, able to provide valuable insights/analysis to assist senior stakeholders with business decisions.


Your responsibilities

• Develop open, honest and trusted relationships across finance as well as business managers in order to deliver great outcomes for the business.
• Drive continuous operational improvements within the finance team, including identifying ways to better leverage the systems, improving the speed and automation of financial data capture, reconciliation, reporting and analysis
• Ensure all applicable balance sheet reconciliations are fully reconciled and all relevant journals are posted on a monthly basis
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of monthly reporting to business leaders including, revenue, operating costs and CAPEX
• Assist and prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts across the domestic portfolio
• Using your financial modelling and communication skills, continually improve forecasting accuracy and relevance for the business
• Resolve revenue, operating cost and CAPEX queries from business leaders you support
• Understand performance, trends, risks and opportunities across financial & non-financial metrics to support decision-making
• Review reporting processes to ensure that information is being compiled accurately and efficiently
• Drive continuous operational improvements within the finance team, including improving the speed and automation of financial data capture, reconciliation, reporting and analysis
• Assist with adhoc project work as and when required

Your background

• You have Tertiary qualifications in Commerce/Accounting, ideally having also completed a CA/CPA or working towards the qualification
• PowerBI etc.) would be viewed favourably but is not essential
• You are an enthusiastic team member, always willing to help and eager to learn, whilst contributing to the culture of the business
• You have previous experience working in a commercial environment, with experience working on management accounting tasks
• You have sound commercial acumen with the dedication to provide valuable insights to assist with business decision-making
• You have an innovation mindset, and love to surface ideas to drive improvements for the team
