About the role

The role reports to the partners and forms a pivotal position in the Practice's future.

The role's overall responsibility will be to manage Audit assignments, the Audit team and workflow as well as preparing audit working papers to partner review and sign off stage. The preparation of clients' financial statements also comes within the role's ambit.

Audit planning would be conducted under the auspices of a partner. A vital function is to initiate, maintain and develop client contact to ensure quality relationships are maintained and respected.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have an Accounting degree and hold CA or CPA membership status. You will also have at least three to five years' Audit experience in a Chartered Accounting practice, with some of that time involved in auditing Not-For-Profit organisations. A portion of that time will have been spent managing staff. Your experience will also have equipped you with significant, client-facing interpersonal and communication skills.

  • The ability to function effectively with a high degree of autonomy
  • Overseeing audit engagements from planning to completion
  • Managing client relationships, being a direct point of contact
  • Preparing statutory financial statements & reports
  • Sound planning / organisational skills, giving the capability to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, but consistent with awareness of the bigger issues
  • Solid experience & proficiency with modern accounting software systems
