About the role

An opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer with end to end payroll processing experience through SAP, to join our Client Services team currently based at a Federal Government organisation 

This is a 6 month fixed term contract based in Canberra

Must fit the eligibility criteria and able to undergo a security clearance

The primary purpose is to deliver a high quality payroll service to ensure client satisfaction

Duties include:

  • Provide accurate and timely salary processing for employees in accordance with their relevant award or employment contract
  • Understand and meet client expectations
  • Determines operational objectives by studying client business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
  • Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing support; training users as required.
  • Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Likes challenging assignments, and is excited by challenge
  • Adhere to the Epi-Use Managed Solutions Values

 

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Must have SAP Payroll experience
  • Minimum 3 years end to end Payroll experience
  • Payroll legislation and awards knowledge
  • Experience working within a complex environment
  • Business process improvement focus (quality management, analysing information and problem solving experience)

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a Payroll Outsourcing environment

  • Tertiary qualified with business related discipline
  • Proven experience within a similar role
  • Working with a team to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Knowledge of using various payroll system (SAP, Preceda, Payroll Metrics, C21, PeopleSoft)
  • Training

Eligibility
To be eligible for employment at this federal department, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must have Australian Citizenship 
  • Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police Check
  • Be willing and eligible to obtain a security clearance to the appropriate level, if applicable to the position
