What you'll do

Optional Rotations

Financial Accounting & Reporting:

  • Assist to complete all month-end tasks in accordance with financial reporting deadlines in an accurate & timely manner.
  • Assist in the review of P&L and balance sheet account monthly movement for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Learn process from sales order through to cash collection from customers. Understand credit limits and follow up on overdue collections
  • Learn how an invoice is processed through to payment. Liaise and follow up with external suppliers on Accounts Payable issues. Understands importance of segregation of duties.
  • Understand how Gaming Machines are manufactured and costed including understanding how the various cost components are derived and calculated how overheads are allocated to product cost.

Commercial Finance and Group Planning

  • Understand the value chain of customer revenue and margin; key market / competitor drivers and how we forecast and manage our customer pipeline via supporting Forecasting process (e.g. Opportunities and Risks, Latest Estimate, Plan).
  • Build key Sales and Marketing stakeholder relationships
  • Assist with completion of business performance analysis / Deal reviews and market insights
  • Understand the group financial consolidation, reporting process and reporting cycles.
  • Understand the key measures for each global business unit/function across our land based and digital businesses.

Optional Rotations

Internal Audit and Risk Management

  • Understand concepts of Assurance and Independence and complete internal audits.
  • Understand key Risk Management activities including attending quarterly risk meetings with all business units, gaining exposure to teams outside of finance.
  • Develop verbal and written communication skills including Board reporting and attention to detail.
  • Develop mindset of process improvement and internal control.

Group Treasury

  • Learn key reporting and data sources for Treasury and execute on reporting .
  • Understand the processes involved in management of Treasury’s exposures and implications.
  • Learn about how an ASX listed company manages its financial risk.

Group Tax

  • Review General Ledger and other reports for Fringe Benefit Tax calculations and associated income tax adjustments.
  • Assist with monthly compliance, e.g. BAS returns (GST), PAYG Instalments, withholding tax.
  • Assist with management of tax consulting budgets.
  • Understanding of global tax risks and presentation skills.

Technical Accounting

  • Understand what a set of ASX-listed financial statements looks like, and how it is prepared.
  • Assistance with the external audit (PwC).
  • Understanding of key technical accounting topics for the Group.
  • Develop business writing skills through preparing the technical accounting newsletter and reviewing Board reports.
