Your new company
This is an independent not-for-profit organisation supporting people with a disabilities in locations across Queensland. They are one of Queensland’s oldest charities. Today they have a diverse community organisation and exist to support the choices of an ordinary life for people with a disability. An opportunity has arisen for a Accounts and Payroll Officer to join the busy finance team.
Your new role
A full time vacancy (Monday - Friday) for a dedicated Payroll and Accounts Receivable Officer to be responsible for the weekly payroll. The successful candidate will be required for the end to end processes which will include collating time sheets, processing hours, entering and processing payments. A full understanding of tax and superannuation will be essential along with a knowledge of various awards, ideally within the not for profit sector. There will also be month and year end reporting required to be completed. You'll also be responsible for preparing debtor invoices and weekly reconciliations along with debt collection.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be working extremely closely with the existing team and senior managers to ensure processes are adhered to in a timely and effective manner. You must have a good understanding of end to end payroll processes through previous experience along with a strong background in accounts receivable. Working within the not for profit sector will require an empathetic nature and sensitive approach. Skills will be proven through the successful candidates prior work history.
