Two of my favorite clients need the same thing.  An experienced Senior Accountant that is striving for more than just compliance.  Actually combined, they need three.  The similarities in the roles/firms are very similar so if you are interested in one firm, you will probably suit the other.  


What They Are Looking For

In both firms, Senior Accountants are required to oversee the development of a few junior staff but mainly you will be client facing.  Working closely with the partner, your role will be to ensure that all aspects of your team’s output is of a high standard.  Yes, you may have to remain “hands on” at times but this is important as you don’t want your skills to evaporate.  You will also be challenged with taking on some "advisory" projects.  At the end of the day, this is where public practice is heading so why not take advantage of the training and development in this area that will be offered.
  
You will of course be required to check your teams work before partner sign off.  You will also assist in the team’s development and encourage them to research issues that are unfamiliar or challenging to them.
  
As the Partner you will be working with encourages autonomy, ownership and responsibility, client contact is a must and you will need to be comfortable with this.  You can’t sit in a corner and simply “crunch” numbers.  This role will allow you to demonstrate your "creative flair" for "getting the job done".


What You Bring To The Table
  
Similar to most Senior Accounting roles, you will have completed your degree and have either completed or be near completion of your CA.
  
Your experiences with a broad variety of business clients in multiple industries will assist you to make a positive impact in this role as will your confident and friendly personality.
  
But the most critical factor of all will be your willingness to interact and participate in the firm’s activities.  Being a team player is a must.

It is mandatory that you have worked in Public Practice for over five years in Australia.  
  

Remuneration & How To Apply

A highly competitive salary package will be made available to the successful applicant.  As a guide only, Seniors in both firms earn between $65,000 to $100,000.  Remember there is also a broad range of non-financial benefits available.
