A large government department with over 5,000 staff are currently looking to engage multiple temporary payroll officers for a period of 6 months as their current payroll officers are seconded onto a project to implement a new payroll system.
This position pays up to $50/hour plus super and is flexible on part time/full time.
The role is also flexible in location, there are offices based in the CBD, Knoxfield, Ballarat, Traralgon, Bendigo and Mansfield.
The role will be using Oracle R11 to deliver a large scale payroll according to the VPS agreement (the Victorian Public Service EBA equivalent). Working within a motivated and welcoming team of 11, this role will provide essential cover to the organisation as they implement a new payroll system.
Within this role you will be responsible for:
- Inputting starter information into Oracle such as TFN, super details, banking details etc...
- Importing time and attendance data into Oracle from CSV format.
- Extracting pay-run information from Oracle for staff on Auto-Pay and comparing it to the previous month to analyse any exceptions before escalating files for payment.
- Helping finance investigate any variences after they reconcile the payroll to the general ledger.
- Answering payroll queries from staff.
- Carrying out EOM tasks.
- Ensuring that super is paid in time.
- Ensuring the correct amount of payroll tax is paid for staff dependent on their location.
- Creating reports on long service leave, headcount and other features.
Requirements
- Extensive payroll experience or over 6 months experience using Oracle for payroll.
