Summary:  Reporting to the Manager of Reporting & Compliance this role is responsible for providing accurate, compliant and timely delivery of a range of financial reports.   The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a large organisation delivering board reports, financial reports, external reports and departmental reports in addition to providing in-depth analysis of financial information.

Key Accountabilities Include:

• Compile, consolidate and analyse various work papers and reports from the Group's business areas to enable the production of  accurate monthly Board Reporting and commentary
• Review and analyse the monthly reporting templates from the groups' subsidiaries and associate(s) for completeness and accuracy and consolidate these reports.
• Produce audited half-year and annual special purpose Financial Accounts for single entity, statutory consolidation as well as covenant consolidated accounts for lenders.
• Correctly prepare work papers to support the financial account preparation of the Group
• Produce half-year covenant reports in accordance with lending agreements
• Produce and analyse ad-hoc Financial and Operational reports
• Review transactions and ensure that Statutory Accounting standards are adhered to
• Apply an advanced understanding of both the organisation and Accounting standards to assess the potential impacts of new and revised standards for financial reporting. Communicate any changes to the business to ensure compliance with Group Accountings standards.
• Request and consolidate information from various business departments to enable the budget presentation to be prepared accurately.
• Analyse monthly shared cost centre spend against budget and identify errors or misstatements of financial results and process corrections
• Consolidate monthly P&L reporting template and perform in-depth analysis to understand key drivers for movements and variances to budget.
• Partner with the wider finance teams to understand factors impacting the financial result, communicate and explain underlying financial drivers to the Leadership group
• Understand FBT requirements and assist with the compilation of information for FBT returns and perform analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy of all transactions applicable to FBT.

To apply it is ESSENTIAL you possess:

• Tertiary Accounting degree with a minimum of 5 years financial accounting experience within a large organisation
• Chartered Accountant qualification (CA units completed) or working towards final attainment
• Strong technical understanding of accounting standards
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal),  including consultation, negotiation and facilitation skills to effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet objective
• To be a team player but also possess the ability to work autonomously
• Advanced excel skills

Desirable:

• SAP working knowledge
• Big 4 experience
• Experience in large organisations
• Confidence in learning new systems
