Worrells is a fast-growing Insolvency Firm that has carved a successful niche in the small to medium enterprise market through delivering quality service and processes through its unique systems.

We are currently looking for a Financial Controller to join the Worrells team, this is a national role that can be based at either our Melbourne or Brisbane office. This is an excellent opportunity to use your current skills and expertise to grow our Financial capabilities whilst working with the Partnership to achieve our strategic goals.

As a Financial Controller your core responsibilities are:

  • Managing and developing the finance team;
  • End of Month accounting, reporting and variance analysis;
  • Preparing budgets and assisting in future planning for the business;
  • Tax compliance, reporting and governance;
  • Reviewing and documenting business processes and internal controls;
  • Reviewing and reporting on all aspects of organisation efficiencies across our 27 offices;
  • Providing recommendations and improvements to our proprietary software; and
  • Liaising with external stakeholders in relation to all finance related matters.

To be successful in this position you will need to possess the following:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role;
  • Full membership of CA ANZ or CPA Australia;
  • A working knowledge of income tax, CGT, GST, FBT etc;
  • Exemplary communication skills;
  • Strong IT skills and ability to converse with our IT team about our proprietary software;
  • Experience in managing a team of finance professionals;
  • Ability to research and analyse data; and
  • Confidence in preparing and presenting reports to the Partnership.

As this is a national role you may be required to travel on occasion. Knowledge of Insolvency and experience in professional services will be highly regarded.
