Southern Steel Group is the largest privately owned steel distributor in Australia. We operate nationally and have a number of branches around Australia with more than 1000 employees. Our highly successful family owned and operated business has experienced incredible growth due to our personalised approach for delivering successful outcomes for our staff, customers and suppliers.
We are currently looking for a Finance Analyst to join the Finance team in Milperra. In this position you will support the Senior Accountant, the Group finance team and collaborate with the business and its Managers providing financial support aligned with the growth of the Company.
This role will be responsible for providing timely and accurate information, monthly reporting and analysis, planning, budgeting and forecasting on financial aspects of the business and provide process improvements and recommendations where required.
This role will be a great fit for someone that has broad high level accounting capability with a proven background in operational business planning, inventory management experience, driven with an ability to consult and build relationships across an organisation, someone not afraid to work on different systems and processes.
Our ideal candidate must have the following capabilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel skills is essential;
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills;
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills;
- Experience with different ERP and Accounting systems;
- A strong communicator with the ability to build good working and partnering relationships;
- Outstanding negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills;
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong organisational skills;
This is a permanent full time position with a salary of $80,000 to $90,000 per annum plus super dependant on candidate’s experience.
