A boutique, professional services firm based in inner-city Melbourne is seeking a graduate accountant. Here you'll be working in a friendly and professional work environment reporting to intermediate and senior accountants.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing support and assistance in the completion of accounting and taxation compliance work for a broad range of clients. Whilst applying sound accounting principles and practices, you'll need to ensure your work is thorough and complete.
Some of the main responsibilities and duties of the role are:
- Processing monthly client bookkeeping, including bank reconciliation, payroll and Business Activity Statement (BAS) preparation, using a variety of accounting packages.
- Assisting with the preparation of Financial Statements for:
- Partnerships
- Trusts
- Companies and
- Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF)
- Assisting with the preparation of Income Taxation Returns for Individuals
- Liaising with the Australian Tax Office
- Liaising with clients
It is essential that the candidate has completed a Bachelor of Business/Commerce majoring in Accounting.
Candidates with any experience in using Xero, MYOB or similar accounting packages would be desirable. Candidates should also be well versed in using the suite of Microsoft Office packages, particularly MS Excel.
The successful person will need to display excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high attention to detail, exceptional time management skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
