Cancer Council Victoria is a prominent Melbourne based charity which is widely respected for its leadership in the design and delivery of a broad range of innovative programs designed to improve healthcare outcomes for all Australians. As part of its commitment to sustainable growth, the business is now seeking to appoint an experienced finance professional to lead a highly motivated team which continuously looks for opportunities to deliver value and enhance service delivery.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services you will be accountable for the ongoing development of a high performing finance function which effectively supports both the day to day financial administration and the longer term strategic goals of the business. You will have oversight of all financial operations including the annual budget and planning process, monthly management & Board reporting and all statutory reporting and regulatory compliance. You will be expected to work closely with the Leadership Team, acting as a ‘decision support partner’ for a broad range of business-critical issues across finance, operational business performance and strategic planning. As a senior finance professional, you will also be a focal subject matter expert for stakeholders throughout the wider group, using your financial subject matter expertise to add value to operational decisions and using your leadership and influencing skills to continuously improve financial processes and optimise business management systems.
This broadly mandated and highly engaging role is likely to appeal to a qualified CA or CPA who might be seeking to augment their leadership experience in a forward looking and down to earth workplace culture. You should possess previous financial management experience complemented by demonstrable team leadership skills and a flair for delivering value-added decision support. You are likely to be a highly effective communicator and a values-driven leader with a passion for developing and mentoring high performing teams, be adept at identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities and possess a strategic but pragmatic approach to delivering high quality outcomes.
