St Thomas More College is a co-educational Catholic Residential College of the Archdiocese of Perth within The University of Western Australia.  The College is currently “home” to 400 university students.

We are seeking the immediate appointment of a dedicated professional to assume the position of Manager of NRAS Finance & Compliance. The Manager of NRAS Finance & Compliance (MONFC) has a key role in ensuring the College meets all its obligations under the National Rent Affordability Scheme (NRAS) in a timely manner so as to ensure the College remains eligible to receive the financially significant incentives available under the scheme. The appointment is for an initial contract period of five years.

The MONFC will be required to liaise closely with the various stakeholder groups involved in the scheme ensuring that the prerequisite financial considerations are stringently adhered to and documented accordingly.  The MONFC is responsible for developing, implementing and subsequently refining the College’s NRAS processes ensuring they are complete, accurate and efficient.

The MONFC will also be required to assist with the day to day financial transactions of the College on an occasional “as required” basis.

The MONFC will act and report under the direction of the Director of Finance and Administration.

This role would suit an energetic and passionate individual who can work independently showing initiative as well as in a team environment with a focus on face to face customer service.

Selection Criteria

The applicant must address the following selection criteria in their application:

Essential criteria:

  • Experience with the National Rent Affordability Scheme
  • Experience in accounting processes
  • Possession of advanced skills in MYOB
  • Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in the use of database systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines
  • Demonstrated strengths in verbal and written communication
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated adherence to workplace policies

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience working in a residential college environment
  • Experience with StarRez accommodation management software
