Cleanaway is the largest waste management company in Australia providing sustainable waste management solutions to a range of customers including councils, small businesses, large corporate entities and government agencies to provide sustainable waste management solutions.
The position
Reporting to the business unit General Manager and the Group EGM - Commercial, the role is responsible for managing all financial aspects of the business, while acting as the commercial partner of the General Manager and business leadership team. Through these relationships you will play a key role in driving the growth and performance of a business which has turnover of $100m to $250m.
- Lead a team of approximately 20-30 professionals, holding responsibility for financial governance, planning and reporting and commercial pricing
- Oversee preparation of tender submissions and contract negotiations, assessment of operational projects and capital investment proposals
- Provide support to management teams in understanding key business drivers
Candidate profile

- Ability to apply commercial acumen to delivery of financial performance
- Ability to influence the business through a professional approach, balancing process versus financial outcome
- Extensive experience in financial/commercial managerial positions in the industrial or manufacturing sectors
- Sound experience with reporting systems and a technical accounting background
- Proven leader of high performing finance teams with a track record of influencing business performance
- CA, CPA or equivalent international equivalent qualification, while an MBA would also be advantageous
