The Role

This role requires an experienced individual who can combine business and accounting expertise, to help this business continue to grow and impact the lives of women around Australia. You will work closely with the leadership team, customer service and operations to design financial processes for the Company, and will further be responsible for the day to day operations and assisting with month-end reporting function.

Job responsibilities

Sales and Banking

  • Support the process design to deal with a high growth business

  • Reconcile bank and other payment gateways daily

  • Credit card reconciliations

  • Ensure all data processed with immediate turnaround, all reconciliations maintained daily and reports generated weekly.

  • Maintain debtor control

  •  

Accounts Payable

  • Maintain centralised mailbox

  • Data entry of supplier invoices

  • Ensure relevant approval received for invoices and check for consistency with the business budget

  • Generate supplier payments as required with weekly payables review and instructions

  • Month-end accuracy, accruals and statement reconciliation with all suppliers

Balance Sheet

  • Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations, respond to queries, prepare all entries

  • Journal entries – accruals, pre-payments, deferred revenue and costs

  • Tax-related activity – BAS, GST, Tax while working closely with external tax agents

  • Prepare financial statements comparison to budget with commentary

  • Inventory control and accuracy

  • Fixed asset register maintenance

  • Resolving all items and keeping stakeholders updated.

  • Process improvement and system considerations

  •  

Payroll

  • Prepare pay run, related calculations, accounting entries and payments

  • Payroll tax calculations and lodgements

  • Participate in process improvement and staff education

  • Maintain HR/employee records

  • Process improvement and system considerations

Forecast and Budget

  • Work closely with the business owner to prepare and own a variety of forecast models

  • Ensure the forecast aligns with business KPIs and objectives

  • Create an annual forecast calendar and run the process of reforecast activities throughout the period to ensure that the forecast evolves over time.

  • Measure back and present meaningful analysis

Projects

  • Assist with the implementation of travel management system and financial policy

  • Assist with the implementation of staff expense system and financial policy

  • Continuous improvement of financial statements and related systems.

  • Accounts payable automation and electronic approval process

  • Data driven exercises and business unit dashboards


Key Selection Criteria

Hit 100 is looking for an entrepreneurial, dynamic individual, with the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant university degree (Major in Accountancy)

  • Qualified, Part-qualified CA/CPA or intention to commence CA/CPA

  • Excellent communicator and analytical thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions 

  • High level of flexibility and a positive approach to the challenging demands of a high-growth start-up

  • Works methodically and demonstrates a respect for process adherence, whilst continuously seeking opportunities to improve the status quo

  • Works to an extremely high level of attention to detail and demonstrates a passion for excellence
