JOINT VENTURE ACCOUNTANT
JV Accountant required for a 6-month contract working with a leading Australian oil & gas operator.
The role will be responsible for administering all aspects of operated and non-operated joint venture accounting, ensuring compliance with joint venture operating agreements and accounting standards.
Interfacing with various stakeholders (Operations, Drilling, Commercial, Projects, Auditors, Exploration, etc.), this position will also provide accurate and timely information to support various business functions, the Finance group and Joint Venture participants.
Key responsibilities of the role will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Assisting in budget preparation and monitoring;
- Reporting of month-end accruals for JV related activities;
- Preparing JV cash calling and expenditure reporting;
- Preparing JV related journals;
- Accounting for acquisitions, divestments and equity changes in SAP; and
- Assisting with various continuous improvement initiatives and opportunities.
To be considered for the role, you must demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ accounting and finance experience with exposure to the oil & gas or mining industries;
- Formal, degree qualification in Accounting or similar field;
- CA or CPA preferred (gained, or working towards);
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills; and
- Strong SAP system experience.
