Financial Accountant

Role Summary:

Are you a recent Graduate with an interest or background in the financial accounting area? We currently have an opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our team on a full time basis, based in Norwest. The role will be responsible for providing support to the financial accounting team and administering a broad range of activities. The role will be working closely with the Senior Financial Accountant with a strong focus on complex and high volume bank reconciliations and inventory accounting.

The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Taking ownership of the end-to-end inventory accounting
• Responsible for the bank reconciliation process
• Liaise with internal and external auditors with any queries or information required
• Proactively seeking process improvement opportunities
• Support the financial accounting team to achieve team objectives and complete projects
• Assisting and completing any ad-hoc tasks
• Maintaining a safe system of work in the workplace and complying with our safety policies

Education, Skills & Experience:

Essential:

• CA or CPA qualified or currently undertaking
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (including Excel and Word)
• Strong understanding of accounting systems, processes and business principles
• The ability to interact with stakeholders at different levels internally and externally

Desirable:

• Experience with JD Edwards/Hyperion/Oracle/MYOB
• Experience or understanding managing high volume bank reconciliations
• Experience or understanding and in balance sheet accounts reconciliations
• Exposure to US GAAP
