The Organisation:
This Canberra based construction company, currently experiencing rapid growth, is looking for an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller to help them ready their finances for their next stage of their business evolution.
They are a highly successful company with very strong industry relationships and turnover in excess of $100 million.
The Opportunity:

The Role:
This role will see you working closely with the Managing Director and Partners, to deliver both operational and strategic elements of the finance function.
You will manage one Accounts Officer as part of your team and not be scared to dive in at a hands-on level to get the job done. There is ample opportunity to step out of the operational finances and help design / deliver stronger financial management, governance and reporting processes.
You will also be working with a range of stakeholders including Project Managers and Contract Administrators to ensure projects are accurately reported on and delivered.
Some of the key duties include:
- Production of month end reporting and reconciliations
- Reviewing, monitoring and managing budgets
- Review and management of general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, WIP and related subsidiary ledgers
- Responsibility of payroll function
- Reporting and lodgement of indirect business tax (GST and payroll tax)
- Administration of business insurance policies and contracts.
- Review, redevelopment of finance and governance processes
- Team management
The Person:
You will be a commercially savvy Financial Manager / Financial Controller with strong base technical skills, high attention to detail and ability to step out of the operational environment when necessary to deliver strategic improvements.
You will have post-graduate qualifications in business, finance or other related disciplines and have at least 5 years accounting experience, preferably in a professional services firm or similar commercial business.
Strong MYOB user expertise is a distinct advantage.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and pull together business and external stakeholders. You will enjoy working in a close-knit team, including working closely with the company’s Directors.
The Salary/Rate:
$100K - $120K + Super + Parking (negotiable on experience)
