The Chamber of Arts and Culture Western Australia is the peak policy and advocacy body representing the arts and cultural sector in Western Australia. The Chamber represents its membership through promoting and advocating, with a unified voice, to government and the wider community the benefits of a vibrant and diverse arts and cultural sector. It undertakes research, provides professional development for the sector, regularly prepares policy submissions on all aspects of arts and culture policy in local, state and federal settings.
The Chamber commenced in 2010 and is now poised for its next phase. It ‘s members represent a diversity of arts organizations, individuals, artists, local government and individuals. It is recognized throughout Australia as a unified voice for the sector and regularly interacts with local, state and federal policy makers and governments, the private sector and works collaboratively with a range of other industry focused groups.
The Chamber is seeking a new Executive Director with a flair for further building a persuasive, evidence based voice for the sector and who has a passion for the arts. They will be the face and voice of the Chamber and will lead strategic operations and planning, building the organisation's resources, prioritising self-sufficiency and sustainability.
The successful incumbent will have the following skills and experiences:
- Knowledge of and a passion for, the arts sector.
- Substantial experience in a CEO, MD or GM role within the Arts sector.
- Possess or have the proven ability to quickly build strong networks within the Australia Arts industry, commercial and government sectors.
- Have leadership, commercial and entrepreneurial flair to develop and grow a sustainable business model.
- Be a seasoned influencer with a flair for the practice of lobbying, advocacy, business development and fundraising.
