Detail information about job Aquaculture General Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

Marine Produce Australia is Australia’s only ocean-cage Barramundi farm. We have been farming fish in the Kimberley region of Western Australia for over 12 years, and our Cone Bay Ocean Barramundi is on restaurant menus around Australia. Our business is entering a significant expansion phase with the recent authorisation to increase annual finfish production to 15,000 tonnes.

We are seeking a General Manager to join our team to lead the current and expanding operations, including providing technical and operational direction and leadership to the existing farming operation and management; leading the development of farm and off-site infrastructure; and, directing production and operational costs and budgeting.

This position will be based in Broome, with regular travel to the Cone Bay farm site, as well as travel to the Perth office.

Given the remote location of the farm it is vital you are able to communicate well and sustain the strong working relationship between the farm, regional sites and the Perth office. In addition you must be able to provide clear reporting directly to the Board.

The responsibilities of the role will be broad, but in addition to leading the current operations will include:

  • Executing farm production expansion
  • Developing and directing operational expansion
  • Leadership and staff management
  • Planning, budgeting and cost management

The successful candidate will have at a minimum 10 years extensive experience of sea cage aquaculture operations, including at a senior management level. Budget preparation and demonstrated cost management skills are essential, and fish health and pathology experience and formal qualifications will be viewed very favourably.

Our company is in exciting growth period and we are seeking someone with experience and vision to lead our existing team.

Please apply through SEEK with a current cv and covering letter outlining your skills and experience. Applications close on 26 July 2018.

For additional information please contact Marine Produce Australia on tel 08 9381 4483.

We are offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience, in the range of 200 to 250k per annum exclusive of superannuation.
