Railtrain is a specialist provider of accredited rail personnel, nationally recognised training, and Safeworking consultancy services to the Australian Rail Industry. We are seeking the services of a highly motivated and industry experienced General Manager to oversee and continue to drive our growth in the key states of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
This role reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the Executive team.
Responsibilities:
- Business Development, client engagement and relationship management
- Accountable for financial, safety and operational performance for the Eastern Seaboard
- Leadership, mentoring and guidance to all direct reports
- Accountable for implementation of Railtrain’s Strategic Plan initiatives
- Establishing brand differentiators and client value propositions to drive sustainable growth
- Contract negotiation from proposal through to execution.
- In-field interaction with key client stakeholders and employees
- Contractual compliance for all national and local clients
- IR risk mitigation and people management strategies
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Extensive Rail Industry experience from both an operational and managerial perspective
- Commercial acumen and proven P&L accountability
- Broad network of industry contacts across a variety of rail operators.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills and able to motivate and inspire a dispersed team
- Sound knowledge of Rail Regulatory requirements
- Proven decision making skills and ability
- Attention to detail
- Tertiary qualifications in Business or rail associated discipline highly regarded
