Senior Mergers and Acquisitions professionals - Up to 12 month contract x 2

We currently have 2 exciting contract opportunities for experienced professionals to join the Woolworths Group Mergers and Acquisitions team.

About our Team

  • Manage Group Portfolio restructuring projects;

  • Execute M&A transactions including valuation, due diligence, commercial negotiation, assist with tax and legal structuring;

  • Assist with business development and other initiatives such as joint ventures, divestments , capital management and other strategic finance matters;

  • Identify and analyse potential acquisition targets; and

  • Work with senior operational management on the development of growth strategies.

What you will do:

  • Work closely with management and provide commercial advice on acquisitions, portfolio restructuring, divestitures, business development and other corporate finance and strategic transactions;

  • Lead all aspects of transaction execution including commercial negotiation and structuring;

  • Manage all aspects of the transaction due diligence process; and

  • Prepare presentations for senior management and the Board regarding portfolio restructuring, acquisition targets, growth strategies and transaction approvals.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Undergraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Law are essential;

  • Postgraduate qualifications such as CA, CPA, CFA, MBA desirable but not essential;

  • 10+ years relevant work experience gained in investment banking, private equity or similar investment firm, Big 4 accounting firms or similar corporate development roles;

  • A good understanding of the retail / consumer industry;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • Financial acumen, including valuation / financial modelling skills;

  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self motivated; and

  • A business partnering approach to work by using data, insights and critical problem solving skills to ensure quality advisory interactions.
