About the business and the role
Our client is a leading, materials handling and capital equipment business who has engaged EGM to find a senior Leader to manage all operations for their Brisbane branch.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager is responsible for leading the day to day running of the business, ensuring that all operations are effective, efficient and safe with a strong emphasis on leading a people culture that drives excellence, performance and results.

Job tasks and responsibilities
This role is responsible for all branch management including the direct supervision and support of the department managers, including developing and delivering the strategic vision, end-to-end P&L responsibility including managing all operational financial elements.
You will be tasked with:
- Leading, developing, engaging and inspiring the workforce
- Ensuring consistent delivery of products and services with the highest standards
- Develop annual business plans and undertake financial analysis, budgets and reporting
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders
- Oversee all safety and business compliance requirements
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement
Skills and experience
We are seeking a proven business leader who has strong commercial and financial acumen with significant operational management expertise. Ideally you will have experience within a capital equipment or material handling business or alternatively construction, mining or manufacturing with a sales viewpoint. Together with your long-term vision, you will be highly driven and motivated to achieve success for yourself and your team.
