Your Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Estates and Trusts this role is required to be the Subject Matter Expert for all Trust Management matters, including testamentary, philanthropic and indigenous trusts.   The Trust Manager is responsible for building and growing the business by partnering with internal stakeholders in order to enhance the value proposition.

 

Remit:

The Trust Manager is expected to:

·Demonstrate leadership in their behaviour and approach

·Manage trust matters in a highly pro-active, client centric manner

·Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of technical trust matters

·Actively initiate improvements within the team and grow new business opportunities including relationships with co-trustees and other parties, such as lawyers and accountants

·Have responsibility for attending co-trustee meetings

·Demonstrate a consistent client experience, in line with the relevant Relationship Roadmap

Expertise required:

  • Post-graduate qualification preferred in relevant industry such as business, finance, accounting or law
  • Significant experience within a trustee business is highly regarded
  • Significant experience managing a large and diverse portfolio of trusts and / or trustee-type clients independently.
  • Proven ability to identify and initiate opportunities to grow Australian Unity Trustees’ client portfolio.
  • Proven experience growing business revenue through referral relationship management.
  • Ability to partner to other areas of the business to offer a full suite of services to meet the client’s needs.
  • Demonstrated highly client centric approach
  • An excellent knowledge of trustee administration and management
  • Exceptional knowledge of financial principles, including investment approaches and asset classes
  • Exceptional knowledge of relevant legislation such as trust law and trustee principles, Wills and Probate Act, and Privacy Act
  • Exceptional communication skills both spoken and written
  • Demonstrated problem solving approach to business issues
