Right now the opportunity has arisen to take the reins of an established, growing business, based in the South Eastern Suburbs.

Servicing the automotive, industrial, agricultural and mining industries, this is a business that has carved out a specialisation that has earned them a reputation for excellence.

Manufacturing and importing, they service an established network of branches, as well as a number of franchised resellers and general trade clients. 

The business has enjoyed continued growth, and has a developed strategy to continue to grow, both organically and through planned acquisitions.

Due to an internal promotion, the opportunity has become available as General Manager.

As well as being a capable leader and manager who can continue the pursuit of excellence through the many BAU responsibilities you would expect in such a role, you will also have a number of specific growth and "new initiative" activities.

You will be expected to continue the existing momentum regarding sales growth, whilst also continuing to build on the good work done improving the business culture and morale.

In addition, your remit will include challenges such as standardising the current business practices, or making the routine actually routine, developing business systems and procedures to be more streamlined and effective, developing the trade marketing and e-commerce capability, as well as furthering the progress already made in terms of developing business wide capability within the team.

Sounds like a lot, but surely not beyond your capabilities.

This role is going to be suited to someone who can demonstrate a track record of general management and sales management success. Ideally you are a natural leader who engages to drive performance, someone who can understands the power of developing an employer of choice" environment.

An understanding of the automotive parts industry would be of some benefit. Of more benefit would be experience within an organisation that part manufactures, part imports, with a similar sales channel.
