The Facility

Located in Millmerran, just West of Toowoomba, Yallambee is a newly renovated Community-Owned Aged Care Facility with a soon-to-be capacity of 60 beds. Our aim is to promote and maintain a community for older people and people suffering from dementia to “dwell at ease” with confidence of their self-worth. We provide innovative quality aged care services and are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of individualised care and services through our highly skilled and professional team.

The Opportunity

Due to continued expansion, Yallambee Aged Care Facility is currently seeking a Business Manager who will work alongside the Clinical Care Manager to manage our growing business in accordance with the strategies, policies, mission and values developed via collaboration with the Board.

The Role

This critical position will require the successful candidate to manage the administration, maintenance, finance, kitchen and laundry-service departments including being responsible for all relevant systems, procedures and resources.

As the facility’s Business Manager, this role calls for a candidate with the ability to make decisions and undertake work autonomously while still maintaining a strong consultative relationship with the Clinical Care Manager and six (6) direct reports. The successful applicant will need to display an ability to lead by example as well as delegate duties to develop and execute operation improvement plans to achieve target outcomes and identified key performance indicators across multiple divisions.

Essential Requirements

A minimum of 5 years business or division management experience;       ·

Experience in computerised accounting and payroll systems;       ·

Proficient in all aspects of account keeping and budgeting;       ·

Experience in organisational and workplace culture development;       ·

Demonstrated experience and ability to motivate and lead staff to deliver continuous operations, quality and WHS improvement activities;        ·

Good decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills;       ·

Demonstrated knowledge and proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Suite;       ·

Highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate with elderly residents, their families, staff, management and the Board;       ·

National police criminal history check, residency and permission to work in Australia.       ·
