Randwick City Council is one of Australia's leading local government organisations. The local government area stretches from Clovelly and Kensington in the north to La Perouse and Port Botany in the south. To support the delivery of these outcomes Randwick City Council is seeking to appoint a Director, City Planning who will build on the solid foundation already in place.
Reporting to the General Manager, and working collaboratively within the Executive Team and across Council, the Director, City Planning will be responsible for leading the City Planning Division to enhance service delivery excellence. Specific current challenges include:
- Driving the implementation of Council's Digital Strategy including transparency of data;
- Developing Council's new LEP;
- Developing and implementing a new Housing Strategy;
- Implementing effective solutions to the Light Rail and urban environment interface; and,
- Leading and motivating energetic, service-driven teams.
You will be tertiary qualified with deep technical skills in planning and will bring a strong track record in providing dynamic leadership and innovation at both strategic and operational levels. Your organisational relationships will be characterised by collaboration and a strong customer focus. You will have built effective working relationships with key stakeholders in both government and the private sector. High level communication skills and the ability to work in a complex, service-driven and customer-centric environment is critical to success.
