mlcoa, a subsidiary of the MedHealth Group in Australia and part of the ExamWorks Group internationally, is the only medico-legal organisation of its kind in Australia.  mlcoa's primary objective is to drive better health and return to work outcomes though optimal injury and claim decision support. The range of health risk management services includes early medical insights with stakeholder engagement, independent medical evaluations and opinions and expert advisory services to corporates, insurers, government and the legal profession.

These are provided by eminent Australian medical specialist consultants nationally. mlcoa is proud that their approach is the benchmark in the medico-legal services sector.

Reporting directly to the Group Executive - Specialist Services, responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • High quality service outcomes, operational and financial performance of the ACT Business Unit
  • Leadership and mentoring of the ACT service delivery team
  • Retaining and growing the Medical Specialist panel to meet the ongoing needs of the market
  • Strong client relationship management and business development to stimulate demand for mlcoa’s wide range of independent medical specialist solutions
  • Continuous improvement in service delivery for the ACT business and as a member of the mlcoa national management team

Occasional interstate and regional travel will be involved.

Requirements for this role are:

  • A successful track record in management/leadership
  • Proven growth of a business unit or similar
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to analyse, develop and implement strategies to grow a business, with an outcome- focussed approach
  • Flexibility and a "hands on" style in a fast-paced , ever-changing environment where quality, values and ethics are never compromised
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills at all levels
  • Exposure to insurance, legal, medical or case management environments and a formal relevant qualification will be highly regarded
