The Role

In your new role as NSW Deputy Executive Director, you will work closely with the NSW Executive Director and act as a key part of the senior leadership team.  In this challenging and diverse role, you will contribute to the development, co-ordination and delivery of policy, advocacy and government relations activities on behalf of the Property Council to achieve high quality outcomes for our members and the property industry.  Your main responsibility will be to support the NSW Executive Director in leading the NSW Division as well as:  

  • Lead 3 Regional Directors and a policy, advocacy and communications team to achieve high quality outcomes for our members
  • Oversee the submission of public policy positions both proactively and reactively
  • Represent and advocate for the property industry and our member’s interests at various public and private forums
  • Manage the design and delivery of public affairs and our corporate communication strategy

About You

We are looking for a strategic thinker who will drive the performance of the NSW Division by leveraging strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders, the team and our members.

This role would suit someone who thrives in an outward facing role and can think quickly in everchanging environment with competing priorities and agendas. With your confident and proactive approach, you will use your vast experience influencing policy decision makers to achieve desired outcomes. The selection criteria for this role includes:

  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience  
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in politics, public affairs, economics, law or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in driving policy change  
  • Strong people management skills and the ability manage, coach and develop a team
  • A genuine interest in public policy within the property industry  
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
