Great opportunity for a grounded individual to join a distributor of technical / electrical products. As General Manager of this national well established business, your role will be to lead a team of Business Managers based around Australia. Whilst the businesses operate independently, the role of the General Manager is to work alongside the Business Managers to ensure business results are achieved and synergies are leveraged. You will be responsible for the achievement of Sales, EBIT and Working Capital targets and will work closely with the CEO to develop growth plans. As a “hands on Manager” this will include building relationships with Key Customers and Key Suppliers and assisting in high-level sales and commercial negotiations.
The ideal candidate will be a Senior Manager with a background in technical products (eg: communications, technology systems, electronics or electrical) who understands the importance of staying abreast of the market conditions within this fast paced and dynamic sector. You will also have managed a trade based distribution business with P&L responsibility and have a proven track record in growing a business. Further, you will demonstrate strong sales, business development and marketing skills, operations, and high level financial / business acumen. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will support the drive, energy, commitment and focus to achieve the significant results required in this challenging role.
