About the Role

The Deputy Director operates as a senior member of a dynamic Human Resources (HR) team reporting directly to the Director, Workforce, People and Culture Division.  You will provide strategic leadership to a team of HR Business Partners and partner with the leadership team of Nepean Hospital.
This is a challenging yet rewarding role which will see you develop positive relationships and deliver quality HR services to support the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD).  You will promote a culture where people value collaboration, openness, respect, empowerment and safety, agility and responsiveness, fairness, excellence and resource effectiveness. You will strive to positively impact through your exceptional HR expertise and commitment to higher standards and continuous improvement.

Selection criteria to be addressed:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Employee Relations, Business, other relevant field and/or extensive experience in human resources management in a large diverse organisation.
  2. Significant senior HR experience operating within large or complex organisations.
  3. Ability to translate the strategic direction of NBMLHD into a clear view of the required human resources and business transformation initiatives and opportunities to deliver high quality results.
  4. Sound knowledge of the principles of contemporary human resource practice and proven application of these in delivering results.
  5. Proven ability to apply knowledge of employment legislation, awards and agreements, policies and best practice to identify and resolve complex workforce issues.
  6. Proven ability as a transformational leader, driving and inspiring engagement with strategic direction and change initiatives, and supporting the professional development and growth in others.
  7. Demonstrated ability to apply positive and constructive influencing and relationship development skills to a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve results through consensus, commitment, cooperation and teamwork.
