About ESTA

ESTA is the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies and it partners with the agencies to improve service delivery to the community. It provides Victoria's 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for police, fire, ambulance and VICSES and manages the provision of advanced, operational communications for police, ambulance, fire services and the SES.  Its vision is to be a high-performing team trusted by the community and our partners to deliver the right emergency response. And its central goal is to save lives and prevent harm through speed and accuracy in emergency operations.

About the role

Reporting to the Commercial Services Manager, you will manage and coordinate all facilities works for ESTA's State Emergency Communications Centres across three locations, Burwood East, Docklands and Ballarat.

Key focus areas for this role include the management of supplier contracts, coordination of works ensuring quality completion in accordance with ESTA work standards and governance processes, providing advice and support for facilities business cases tenders and negotiations.  This role also plays a key role in the asset management cycle.

The variety and challenge in this role will come from the following duties.

  • Develop, maintain, collate and update facilities reports, providing analytical and technical support to key stakeholders
  • Act as the pivotal lead in the development of facilities business cases and tender documentation to enable third parties to be contracted
  • Plan, manage and coordinate facility suppliers, minimising disruption to service through the application of scheduled preventative maintenance, unscheduled maintenance and lifecycle replacement
  • Work in collaboration with the Manager of Commercial services to draft facilities relevant policies and develop a cohesive facilities policy framework
  • Influence and lead facilities document management
  • Continuously improve the facilities capability in incident management, issue and risk management.                           

You will have:

  • Demonstrated success in project management, maintenance management, facilities management or business management
  • Senior line management experience within a complex, multifaceted work environment
  • Qualifications/knowledge or experience in building trades/building maintenance or with ESTA
  • Exceptional people skills, commercial awareness, financial astuteness and customer service skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Current Australian driver's licence required
  • The successful applicant must satisfy the National Police Records Check standard that includes fingerprinting.
