About SSSI

The Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) is the national body representing the interests of professionals in the fields of Land, Engineering, Mining and Hydrographic Surveying, Cartography, GIS, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry and emerging location technologies.

SSSI is a member-based not for profit organisation that provides strong leadership, advocacy and learning for the surveying and spatial sciences community nationally.  

In Western Australia, SSSI provides spatial professionals, practitioners and organisations with opportunities for professional development and networking events where members and sustaining partners can share knowledge.

The Regional Operations Manager role contributes to the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the SSSI WA Region.  

The duties include providing high level executive support services to the Regional Management Committee, delivering a quality client information service to members, and overseeing event management for SSSI WA.

Duties Summary

This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer in the National Office and is also accountable to the WA Regional Management Committee (RMC) through its Chairperson. The successful applicant will also be required to assist SSSI's professional Commissions, Special Interest Groups and Committees.

The incumbent will be the executive officer for the RMC, supervise casual staff members from time to time and undertake the following activities:

  1. Members Services & Business Operations
  2. Events & Awards Management
  3. Strategic Support
  4. Budget & Finance
  5. Communications, Marketing & Advocacy
  6. Membership & Professional Certification.
