JOB DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced business development professional to join our team as the National Account Manager – Emerging Customers, based at our Office on St Kilda Road.

You will be responsible for national accounts and other channel management duties, within BIC Oceania’s business. Your main area of focus will be on managing customers within the Emerging Customers portfolio as well as managing New Business opportunities nationally.  The channels of distribution include, but are not limited to:

1. Department Stores (DDS)

2. Discounters

3. Pharmacy & Hardware

Reporting to the Sales Manager, your key areas of focus will include:

  • Plan and direct sales activities within specified product categories.
  • Achieve sales budgets to meet value, volume and profitability expectations while working within a defined trade spend.
  • Liaise with large national customers, attending range reviews along with promotional and business planning meetings to achieve maximum distribution and availability for BIC’s range of products. 
  • Build strong multi-level business relationships with large national customers, whilst looking for profitable sales growth opportunities.
  • Work collectively with the Sales Manager to develop and execute promotional strategies, prepare business reports and compile presentations.
  • Work constructively in cross functional project teams with field sales, customer service, manufacturing and supply chain to develop and execute effective promotional strategies.
  • Other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Tertiary qualifications, ideally in business.
  • Proven Account Management and Industry experience in a selling function, primarily FMCG key accounts and/or large format retailers.
  • Proven success in new business development
  • Entrepreneurial/outside-the-box thinking and initiative
  • Demonstrates sound business acumen with Profit & Loss understanding
  • Impeccable communication and negotiation skills
  • Well-presented and highly motivated
  • Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership skills to drive cross functional teams
  • Be highly motivated and computer literate
