Our client is an Australian manufacturer and supplier of permanent formwork for a variety of commercial and infrastructure applications, they are looking to expand their sales team with the addition of a sales engineer to promote customised systems to a range of tier 1 and 2 construction companies and associated sub-contractors. They have a well-recognised and fully patented range of products that can be found in the majority of major construction projects on the East Coast. This role has materialised through a restructure of the Melbourne team and the successful applicant will be joining a financially stable and growing business.

 

Covering the main metro hotspots in Melbourne this role is focused on building relationships with project managers, contract managers, site managers and procurement contacts in their established customer base of large commercial building contractors and installers. The diversity of the role will offer an opportunity to sell on a technical and commercial level depending on the application of the project you are pitching for. Day to day you will be calling on all of the above contacts, building relationships, establishing requirements, quoting and tracking projects through to completion. Project values range from around $100k in to the Millions. The role is diverse in the sense that you could be selling to a diverse client base from senior procurement with a mine operator to a site manager at a tier one building contractor, therefore you will be happy dealing at various different levels.

 

You will be an established sales professional and will have a good understanding of both technical solution sales as well as the wider construction industry. You will be a comfortable presenter, a natural rapport builder and you will be looking to work for a company with strong brands and products you can really be proud of. You will be able to read technical drawings and assist your clients on both a technical and commercial level. You will be able to play the long game with your customers and understand the importance of established and committed relationships. Our client can offer full training on the product range so our client places more emphasis on sales calibre, an eye for detail and your ability to close a sale.
