Our client is a well-established and highly recognised supplier of high-end aftermarket mechanical parts and servicing solutions which allow heavy equipment operators to achieve increased productivity through improved equipment efficiency. The company offers their clients fast turnaround times, excellent customer service and a high level of technical expertise including the ability to custom manufacture, in addition to a national and international network of offices and services centres. Currently there is an exciting opportunity to progress your career with this leading employer in the role of QLD Sales Manager.

The role

Based in Mackay, the position reports to the QLD State Manager and is responsible for maintaining and growing client relationships to achieve sales and margin targets for the region. While the primary focus is on the Bowen Basin mining sector, the position is responsible for the whole state and will also touch on a range of associated industries including road transport, rail, power, marine and agriculture. As a primary point of contact for customers, you will seek to understand customer needs and motivators to offer tailored solutions, while also providing customers with technical support and timely quotations. As a Sales Manager, you will also maintain accurate client records and provide management with regular market information and reports, while also working with internal stakeholders such as the Workshop Manager to ensure a high level of customer service is provided.

Required Experience

  • Demonstrated success in business to business sales and account management, ideally within the mining or industrial sector;
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to build long term client relationships;
  • A sound technical or mechanical acumen with the ability to retain and explain technical concepts;
  • A professional, friendly and flexible approach with excellent customer service skills;
  • Highly motivated, reliable, honest and able to work autonomously with a high level of integrity;
  • Sound mechanical and technical acumen with the ability to learn and retain technical information;
  • Sound computer skills - MS applications and CRM systems; and
  • Able to travel regularly.
