A rare opportunity exists to join an expanding team, working with market leading brands in a blue-chip global business. The company’s portfolio extends across multiple categories within both grocery and pharmacy channels.
 
 
About the role
 
This role is an integral part of the team responsible for category management and shopper insights and assists the business to find opportunities for growth, identify underperformance and best practice in the areas of Assortment, Pricing and Promotions. Your work will help create action plans that maximise revenue for your brands, the shopper and retailer partners.
 
On a day to day basis you will track, evaluate and provide meaningful insights to the broader team leveraging market data and consumer/shopper research to develop best in class strategies on existing and new product ranges. You will also play an integral role in managing the go-to-market process for NPD and associated trade requirements.
  
 
Responsibilities
 
Pricing and Assortment

• Analyse market data to identify current situation and opportunities across channels
• Provide recommendations on price & assortment architecture & impact to revenue for current and new products

Promotion Management

• Seek a deep understanding of the promotional dynamics of the category and the brands
• Uncover opportunities to improve promotional tactics and strategies that provide a win to the shopper, the retailer and the brand

Category Reviews

• Input into the Category review process by preparing background data and all relevant marketing/category information in accordance with the review timetable
• Provide sales teams with supporting information to ensure success of new product launches

Shelf management

• Provide planograms for major customers including detailed analysis demonstrating category growth
• Develop shelf management and core ranging strategies by channel that drive company growth objectives

Other General Analysis & Business Team Support

• Provide in-depth analysis to the Category Business Team for input into sales strategies and to develop category growth initiatives
• Manage the go-to-market process including providing required product information and managing communication flow

 
 
Skills and experience 

• Business related degree, preferably with Marketing major
• Some experience required in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Insights and/or Territory Management within an FMCG or related environment
• Strong analytical skillset with some data mining expertise (IRI/Quantium data)
• Organised with ability to prioritise and manage workload
• Very strong cross-functional communicator
• Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
• Attention to detail
• Ability to negotiate positive outcomes
