Who you are

We’re looking for a talented and dynamic sales professional to further develop our existing customer relationships with our independent newsagents and retailers as we continue to drive revenue growth for our newspaper brands across all retail channels.  Reporting to the Retail Sales Manager, this mobile role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, focused and resilient individual to join News Corp and make their mark. A current driver’s licence is mandatory.

This role is crucial in leveraging our strong relationships with our newsagency and retail partners to increase sales revenue whilst delivering customer centric retail activities and driving high value bundle sales initiatives. Supported by relevant tools and training, you will receive the resources and support needed in order to succeed.

From a customer perspective, you will:

• Manage and develop the current retailer base within your territory, leveraging our strong client relationships and driving sales growth
• Deliver the Cycle priorities for all retailers within your territory, with clear activation targets
• Present clear selling stories and drive Retail engagement on Role and Importance of Newspapers
• Ensure retail issues are managed swiftly and follow correct issue resolution processes with the wider team.
• Add value to the customer by demonstrating an understanding of newsagency and retail industry developments and issues more broadly effecting retailers
• Work towards a strategic plan to exceed sales targets and promote our full suite of newspapers
• Manage budgets and build strategic business relationships with new and existing retail partners across all levels

You will be able to identify new sales opportunities and through sophisticated influencing and negotiation skills, quickly develop profitable business outcomes as you drive compelling solutions to your clients. You will clearly deliver point of purchase initiatives and be effective in selling stories for all key activities.

Success in this role stems from an established background in field sales, account and relationship management and a proactive and target orientated mentality. Your knowledge, experience and networks within FMCG, Retail or Newsagency will be invaluable and essential; showcasing your capability within the Australian retail landscape will be paramount. Tenacity, self-motivation and perseverance are all key elements that will see you thrive and shine.
