THE ORGANISATION
Celebrating 20 years of operation and proudly Australian owned and operated, Symbio Laboratories is a leading provider of commercial testing services to the food, agricultural, water and environmental industries. We have laboratories in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Townsville, Wagga Wagga and Rockhampton.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated and hardworking salesperson to join our Sales and Marketing team, based out of our Brisbane Laboratory. This role requires travelling around Queensland and extensive contact with the mining industry.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Target and attract new business
- Protect, manage and grow existing business
- Exceed sales targets
- Monitor competitor activity, new issues and trends in the industry
- Attend relevant trade shows
ABOUT YOU
You will be energetic and proactive with the ability to effectively engage with other businesses to drive new and existing testing services in the environmental sector. Our ideal candidate would have an Environmental Science background coupled with sales experience and have a strong network of environmental industry contacts such as consultants, utilities, councils and mining.
Preferred qualifications and skills include:
- Previous experience in a sales role
- Experience with analytical testing (microbiological and chemical) in the environmental industry
- Knowledge of EPA, OH&S and local government environmental regulations
- 3-5 years experience working in the environmental sector. Specific sectors of interest to us include:
- Water quality monitoring and assessment
- Environmental compliance monitoring
- Wastewater assessment and management
- Air – environmental and occupational
- Soil – environmental, agricultural and occupational
- Competency in MS Office and use of customer databases/CRM software
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
