What is the role?

Reporting to the Industry Sales Manager, this position based in Perth/Brisbane will be responsible for large projects executed via Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contracts. This role is an elite sales leader and responsible for development of EPC’s in the South Pacific region, and will be required to complete and execute account plans, generate and maintain leads and opportunities, and at times be responsible for assigned large project pursuits direct with key end user accounts.

The key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Establish and maintain relationships at an executive level with target accounts
  • Engage with Rockwell Business Unit leadership, Field Sales, and Distributors to ensure effective pursuit strategy and execution
  • Early engagement with EPC’s to influence specifications and identify target projects
  • Track and publish major project information on a regular basis
  • Develop list of either EPC identified opportunities or direct end user account major project opportunities and own the sales cycle for those opportunities
  • Develop sales strategy and execution plan for qualified opportunities
  • Build effective business relationship with the EPC through understanding their organisation, developing a business relation with key decision-makers and understanding their business, strategy and directions.
  • Provide the annual plan for the EPC in coordination and cooperation with local Rockwell Automation sales/support offices in the geography, and communicate this plan within Rockwell Automation.
  • Ability to set and achieve challenging targets
  • Takes initiative in response to changing circumstances within the organisation or markets

In order to succeed in the position, you will work collaboratively with the Rockwell Industry team, Rockwell Business Unit Managers, Global Industry team, as well as the Rockwell Sales team and support offices locally and internationally to win orders and increase market share. The role requires regular travelling within Australia and New Zealand, as well as occasionally overseas. 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an engineering/technical/IT or business related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior sales experience in a solutions/turnkey/technology-based organisation
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in EPC(M)s/similar industry
  • Proven ability in appropriate competencies
  • Proven ability to achieve results, closing multi-million dollar deals
  • Ability to acquire new business within existing customer
  • Ability to co-ordinate with global and in-country teams
