We are searching for a highly driven, energetic and customer focused General Manager to join our Devonport operation.

To be considered for this role you must have at least 5 years recent experience in automotive sales, preferably in a leadership capacity along with a proven history of success and proven sales methodology.  This position is also open to existing sales managers looking to take the next step in their career. Applicants must be seeking a long-term role with the view to advancement.

As the General Manager you will be expected to:

  • achieve manufacturers' and JMC Group performance targets, whilst optimising dealership profitability
  • lead, manage, motivate and develop staff across all parts of the business
  • achieve excellent standards of customer service through a customer-focused culture
  • have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of dealership operations
  • develop, enhance and maintain relationships with all manufacturers
  • have a finger on the pulse of today's sales trends & processes, and be up to date with all the technologies that form part of a modern dealership.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • structured and successful sales methodology
  • a proven track record in the motor vehicle industry as General Sales Manager, Sales Manager or senior Sales Executive of a large volume dealership.
  • passion to succeed against set KPIs
  • proven competencies in people management, communication and leadership.
  • ability to communicate at all levels with staff, customers & manufacturers
  • problem solving ability with commitment to quality of work and a very high level of customer satisfaction
  • good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • attention to detail and strong administration ability
  • automotive industry experience is essential.

Someone who can mentor and motivate staff with a strong focus on sales volume, gross profit, customer service and continued business growth. You must have pride in your work and the professionalism to achieve all KPI's and ability to adapt and change to maintain a competitive advantage where needed. Above all you must have the tenacity and business acumen to ensure the basic fundamental systems and processes that make dealerships successful are followed 100% of the time, all the time.
