About the business

Our client is a highly recognised company listed on the ASX 200 which has a significant profile in its market segment and is renowned for its dependability and passion for servicing their customer base with first class quality products. The company operates through Business Units and this Unit is arguably one of the largest in the company.

The role will be based in the Head Office of this operation in the northern suburbs and will report directly to the General Manager.

Some role dimensions: 4 direct reports with 2 indirect reports. National responsibility for major national customers.

 

About the role

Some Key Accountabilities:

  • Close liaison with Head of Finance and Strategy to implement and execute the directional focus and overall strategy for the sales and top line across the horizon; optimise opportunity in product mix; setting targets in promotional activity and value/volume across the customer base.
  • Deliver long term sustainability growth for the business and implement sales initiatives to support the growth agenda and strategy.
  • Effectively manage customer expectations and related issues across corporate accounts, end users, and distributors.
  • Provide leadership through effective communication of vision, active coaching and development while comparing sales results to goals and taking appropriate action to correct where necessary.
  • Provide sales management, budget control, compensation programs and incentive planning.

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience as a successful and proactive leader in commercial, sales, marketing and/or business manager in a FMCG or related environment.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing/Business or similar.
  • Outstanding commercial and financial abilities and understanding, together with high emotional intelligence teamed with sound numerical skills.
  • A leader who strives to achieve success through personal effectiveness, results orientation, negotiation and influencing skills and courageous decision making.
  • Agile, adapt quickly to change and always be "on the front foot".
  • A proven track record in a similar role.
