Our Sales & Marketing Department are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Manager - APAC (Small Boats) to join the team based at head office in Henderson, Western Australia. Reporting to the General Manager – Sales, you will be responsible for supporting the development, marketing and sales of Austal capabilities and products primarily in the high speed ferry market, and in particular to the APAC markets.

The primary responsibilities & accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify and actively pursue commercial business opportunities in line with Austal’s capabilities and products and penetrate new markets
  • Qualify and field high volume of new enquiries and maintain the Austal sales enquiry database
  • Assist with overall tendering process for the S&M Team with tendering; provide timely, accurate information on all tenders, request for information and prospect enquiries
  • Review, negotiate and present contracts & company presentations
  • Attend trade shows and other networking opportunities
  • Develop and maintain close , mutually beneficial and productive working relationships with key stakeholders / partners / clients who have an impact on the development and achievement of company sales and marketing objectives
  • Develop and monitor the following in line with Austal’s strategy and revenue forecasts for major existing and potential clients: Key Account Plans | Service products | Marketing and sales plans |Opportunities to generate sales revenue
  • Provide technical sales & marketing guidance & advice to existing & potential clients and internal stakeholders

What we are looking for:

  • Extensive Commercial, offshore, naval or marine boatbuilding sales experience
  • Knowledge of marine process and shipbuilding best practices
  • Proven contract negotiation, management and tendering experience
  • A high standard of personal presentation along with excellent verbal & written communication skills; and the ability to communicate effectively with internal & external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong desire & willingness to travel at frequent intervals for business
  • Extensive professional network within the shipbuilding industry
