Detail information about job Sports Partnership Manager ACT/SA. Terms and conditions vacancy

The Australian Sports Foundation is a not for profit whose role is to raise private, philanthropic and corporate funds to support the development of sport in Australia. We believe that sport is part of the Aussie culture, and is embedded in our national DNA. We believe in the power of sport to bring diverse cultures and communities together, to improve physical and mental health, and to teach important life skills, like teamwork, discipline and resilience.

We work with athletes, schools and clubs – from the smallest grassroots and community clubs, right through to our professional, national and Olympic teams - to raise funds for hundreds of projects a year. These projects help improve the health of our nation, build our communities and strengthen our national sporting identity.

Since 1986 we have helped raise nearly $400m for Australian sport, and by 2021 our target is to raise $100m annually and to benefit thousands of clubs, schools and athletes each year.

Key elements of the role include:

1.  Build a deep understanding of the sports market in the region, covering local, state and national perspectives.

2.  Establish and develop strong relationships with priority organisations in the region, including: Professional sports clubs, National and State Sporting Organisations, State Sporting Federations, local & State Government and major grassroots or community clubs, in order to encourage and facilitate fundraising partnerships;

3.  Develop a strong understanding of the role of philanthropy in sport, and demonstrate an ability to convey to clients and stakeholders why sport is a deserving vehicle for philanthropy;

4.  With guidance from the National Sports Partnerships Director and, where appropriate, the CEO, provide best-practice advice and support to athletes, clubs and organisations fundraising with us, in order to enhance the success of their fundraising campaigns.

5. Where appropriate, identify and help make connections with philanthropists and potential donors to sporting projects in the region;

6.  Represent the Sports Foundation at selected workshops, seminars, events and conferences under the guidance of the Leadership Team.

Applicants should upload their resume and a covering letter, addressing their interest in sport and their suitability for the role. Queries should be directed to: [email protected]
