At Urban Utilities, we are in a very exciting period where the sky is the limit in terms of investigating and digging deeper into opportunities that either land on our door step or those we seek out. We are looking for a Bid Manager to join our Advanced Solutions Team, to support the identification and effective delivery of core and non-core commercial opportunities and contributing to the diversification of revenue streams for QUU.
You will understand the operations side of business enabling you to make informed decisions about whether an idea will practically work or not. Screening opportunities to understand the how, where and when will be your bread and butter. Your strong and demonstrable understanding of cost estimates and ability to quickly calculate on your feet will further help in coming to these conclusions.
In the role, you will:
- Manage the preparation and submission of competitive proposals for commercial projects.
- Develop an understanding of the balance between customer requirements and servicing strategy and prepare proposals articulating how QUU can meet customer needs in a commercially-sound manner.
- Communicate business development activities to relevant internal stakeholders and establish project groups to transition new commercial opportunities into BAU.
- Provide strategic and operational guidance to identify, manage and minimise actual and potential risk exposure to commercial projects.
We are looking for the following knowledge and experience:
- Demonstrated technical experience in the design, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment assets.
- Demonstrated experience developing relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience articulating value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating outcomes in difficult situations.
