We are recruiting on behalf of our National Manufacturing client based in Penrith. They specialise in manufacturing cardboard packaging for their customers and are one of the largest manufacturers in this industry. We are seeking an organised and driven Sales Representative for a permanent position within the business. The Sales Representative would play a crucial role within the company wherein the products are explained to customers, specific order requirements are taken and key business relationships are formed.

 

This is an external sales role (you would be on the road for the majority of the day) and presents the opportunity to work as if you are running your own business. As long as you are hitting targets and KPI's and completing all necessary tasks within a regular 38 hour week (Monday-Friday), there is flexibility and the opportunity for you to work autonomously. As you will be out on the road a lot, you are master of your own destiny and you can choose how to diarise your day, as long as you work a 38 hour week, you can start early and finish early and likewise with starting late. For this reason, we are looking for a candidate that we can trust to do the right thing and put in all of the necessary hours to get the job done on a daily and weekly basis.

 

This role offers $75,000/year which includes superannuation a company vehicle, plus laptop and phone. There is no commission structure in place for this role with discretionary bonuses being on offer at the end of financial year or upon review of your KPI's. An external Sales Representative would work within a geographic region (Western Suburbs of Sydney) to manage and grow an existing account base. There is a strong focus on bringing on new business and so you would need to be thick skinned and able to handle cold calling, rejection and customer complaints. This role is responsible for providing the customers with product specifications from quoting, sampling and also managing other necessary processes such as recovering outstanding debt. You would need to keep on top of our own admin tasks and ensure processes and documentation are carried out within a timely manner.

 

During the initial induction period you would be based in the Penrith office to be introduced to the customers that the company deals with. The person that is successful will need to be organised with an eye for detail, driven to want to grow and develop within the business, a quick learner and a self-starter and able to keep up with a fast paced role in a fast paced industry. You will need to have at least 2 years' experience with selling on the road and good tenure with previous positions held.
