Reporting to the Victorian State Manager, the State Sales Manager is responsible for development and performance of all sales activities. Identifying new business opportunities, building key customer relationships and maintaining extensive knowledge of local market conditions with the aim of improving the company's market position and achieving financial growth targets.

Key results will focus on Sales, Budgeting, Staff Management,and Development.

Your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting, projecting and developing annual sales quotas for all sites
  • Responsible for the performance and development of Account Managers, internal Sales and Residential Coordinators
  • Pro-actively manage key accounts
  • Manage Commercial and Residential sales process from prospecting to negotiations to closing deals
  • Research and identify trends in markets, organisations and individuals
  • Manage client needs with appropriate solutions by working closely with the rest of the team
  • Maximise profit opportunities, provide action plans for pricing, proposals
  •  

Skills, Experience and Personal Characteristics

  • 3-5 years in a similar position of Senior Management
  • a proven back ground in Sales and Account Management
  • Demonstrated experience developing new and existing customer base
  • Experience identifying customer needs and developing appropriate sales approach
  • Local market knowledge for the construction industry
  • Experience presenting to senior executives
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite
  • Contract and supply agreement negotiation experience
  • Well developed negotiation skills
  • Assertive and self confident
  • Strong team player with a hands on approach
  • Strong motivation for sales
  • Professionally presented
  • Strategic thinker with good business acumen
